The Dance of Names

Everything and everyone is here; the names make them seem far away

What’s gone, too, is here; we just call it “gone” and think it “gone.”

What’s to come, has always been; we just call it “not yet” and think its name.

Near and far, here and there, now and then: these are Its names, the pillars of this world.

It’s all here, and Its names dance, and we call the dance of names the world.

The gathering never ceased: Adam and Eve, too, are here. The snake, Judas and the cross, with all the saints and the thieves, the Christ and the anti-Christ, the high and the low, all who have died and all who are to ever live. They are all here, for there is nowhere else to be.

There are no two points.

With the eyes shut, the child imagined the names, and the names overpowered the child, and out of fear of losing control, the child kept his eyes shut, for he thought the names of his own making might devour and hurt him.

The child now believes in a world, spread across distances and times. He forgot that these are all names: spread, across, distance, and time! These are all his own names, and his naming makes things look real.

Only if he dared open his eyes, he’d realize there’s no separation, that it’s all the dance of names: Everything and everyone is here; the names make them seem far away!

  1. Narayana Pranam. This must be the reason we all thrive only for name and fame and it is madly with shut eyes. Wow a simple way to express why dvaita is bound ๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ

  2. This is a post that soothes the soul, thanks for writing this.
When the horrors of the world are too much to take, this is what I think, why be fettered to something that’s not real. But maybe it’s just escapism.

All the saints are here, all the gods are here. Their wisdom is here, their grace is here..
But the world and the experience of human self in this world ARE scaringly real & painful, I turn myself in into the chambers of the Overlord..
He has no name, no form, it’s just stillness, it’s just silence,
It’s just Him there, ultimately, it’s just Him there..
So I stand before Him and ask , you are kind and compassionate,
I am You, so why are You hellbent on making me go though all this,
Blur it, wipe off, vapourise, just free me already. .
I demand unconditionally, I demand rightfully, because that’s mine to deserve and I do this often,
Lord knows what are all those that this human self need to suffer , before the grand paradox of existence is knotted out..
