If You Have to Fall, at least Fall with Grace

Let’s speak of the Fall: to think we are someone who we are not!  And how much the environment and the nature of our company contribute to this false persona! When over the course of our life and our preoccupation with mundane affairs we keep slipping further down the path, without even noticing, the path that the spirit has traversed, and in such slipping down into hell we are so accepting of the subtle changes of scenery, and we even make worldviews and ideologies about them to justify our status! We become degenerate.

But one cannot on their own keep this from happening, for there’s a downward current in existence that washes everything away and into the lower undifferentiation. I have seen men and women kept in place only by those to whom they give what’s been divinely given to them: when a teacher teaches, when a musician plays, when a writer writes, when a speaker keeps speaking, and when a guide guides.

But when you are oblivious to your gift, or when you are aware of it but don’t reenact it in the world and allow others take its fruits, then you decay and fall. When you don’t speak the word, the word gets forgotten and with it you.

So, ask yourself: who are you? What must you give, the giving that makes you rich and not the one that makes you poor? Find that, and then give, or else decay and fall.
